Why would you expect useful, helpful programming from Microsoft?? Have you been in a coma since 1984?

This is typical.

With condolences to DRI, Seattle Computing, Stac Electronics, Peter Norton, SCO, Sun, Banyan, Giant Software Company, etc., etc., etc. ad nauseam:

1- Small Company manages to develop useful, innovative software despite the 400-pound gorilla holding the source for the undocumented, bug-infested OS.
2- Customers adore the product publicly.
3- M$ egos can't stand the limelight on anyone else, so they lavish cash on Small Company until Small Company's investors demand the deal be concluded.
4- M$ absorbs Small Company, creative people are all fired, product source handed to the 400-pound gorilla for "safekeeping" (available only to M$ and anonymous 3rd-world burglars).
5- M$ coders, barely able to keep their pee stream in the little cups, rewrite the entire app to run in Internet Explorer (when your only tool is a hammer...), which violates every security Standard on the planet.
6- Any feature which gives User control over M$ "internals" is deleted with extreme prejudice.
7- Every 3rd line in the "new" code is a bug.
8- Pencil and paper sales soar. :^(
9- The world waits for another innovator who can forget the drubbing Small Company just took to come along with another attempt at "innovation"...

And the wheel goes around again...

But seriously, is there a Visio Viewer we can actually USE???

I have the same problem. It takes me couple hours to find the solution. The different file formats really make me crazy... s*cks M$

A Visio drawing may not open in Visio Viewer 2007, and you may receive an error message in Internet Explorer

It's not working for me. I don't have Visio 2002, I have Visio 2000. I installed the 2007 viewer and it doesn't work at all. Then following your suggestion, I uninstalled the 2007 viewer and installed the 2003 viewer, which gets me farther, in that it will try to open it in IE, but nothing shows. When I used 2007 it just kept asking me if I wanted to open it, to which I replied yes, then it asked me if I wanted to "Save" or "Cancel" which does nothing for me.

I'm hating Microsoft. They don't have any instructions on how to modify the security settings for ActiveX controls if this is what is causing the problem, either.

Thanks for the post, anyway.
