Coding Horror is doing a three part series on building a brand new, utterly kickass computer. For development purposes. He covers everything from installing hardware to using benchmarking/testing tools, to installing the OS and even overclocking. All of it is documented with full color hardcore nerd pornography.

This one will be interesting. I have built embedded systems in my previous life. I would like to know what are the modern trends in that arena.

I checked out the link you attached on your post, and it was helpful in the sense that it was step by step and guided like that.

It makes me doubt that I could do it though—at least without personal tutelage, it seems so mechanical, and I’m a klutz at mechanical building! Do you have any PC-building links for total amateurs and klutzes such as I?

Nonetheless, thanks for the link… at least it has my non-mechanical engineering self aspiring for something to conquer. :)
